Daniela Katzenberger wants to return to Germany. “I’ve missed my homeland for a long time,” she admits in an interview.

Daniela Katzenberger (35) would like to return to her home country Germany. The 35-year-old has that in an interview with the “Bild” newspaper disclosed. She has lived in Mallorca with her husband Lucas Cordalis (54) and daughter Sophia (6) for five years. “I’ve been missing my homeland for a long time,” she explains now. Katzenberger is “simply not an island type”.

However, she still has to convince her husband. Lucas Cordalis is “much more closely linked to Mallorca” than the cat. The singer has his studio in his parents’ house – where he worked a lot with his late father Costa Cordalis (1944-2019). “There are also a lot of memories attached to it,” says Katzenberger. “Besides, he has a lot of performances here in the summer season.”

If to Germany, then to the Rhine

If they actually go back to Germany, the family already has very specific plans: “We would basically like to live on the Rhine – I like the people there,” says the 35-year-old. It depends “on the opportunity” whether they end up in Katzenberger’s homeland in the Palatinate or near Cologne. What is already certain: “We would certainly rather live in the countryside and not necessarily in the middle of the city.”

Katzenberger’s homesickness for Germany is also the subject of the eight new episodes of the docu-soap “Daniela Katzenberger – Familienglück auf Mallorca”, which will be broadcast on RTLzwei from June 22nd. The end of the season should show whether the family decides for or against staying in Germany.
