Together with Switzerland Tourism, we have been visiting the most beautiful cities in Switzerland over the past few months and have them shown to us by those people who know them best: the locals. After visiting the cult baker Lea Gessler and her colleague Leon Heinz in Basel a month ago, Daniela Kesten, co-founder of the fitness, yoga and food community Templeshape, shows us her favorite places in Zurich this month. If you want more recommendations after the video: Here are five more travel tips for your short trip to Zurich.

1 – Discover the colorful world of Frida Kahlo

An exhibition that inspires all around: “Viva Frida Kahlo – Immersive Experience”.

A world premiere can be seen in the Maag light hall until the end of February 2022: the exhibition “Viva Frida Kahlo – Immersive Experience”. The story of the Mexican painter Frida Kahlo is told in picture and sound. The images appear on the walls, ceiling and floor in a 360-degree all-round projection – simply spectacular.

2 – Have a cup of tea in the Zurich alpine hut

If you are looking for fresh air and an alpine atmosphere, you will find both not only in the Swiss mountain regions, but also in Zurich. To do this, walk the ridge path on the Uetliberg for a good half an hour and turn off at the “Teehütte” sign. After a few minutes you will reach a small hut that was founded and built in 1906 by the Steile Wand Alpine Club: the Fallätsche tea hut. It is open to visitors every Sunday and offers tea as well as small snacks.

3 – Shop beautiful things

Zurich is full of shops and stores. If you are looking for beautiful things, you should visit these two. On the one hand, the Asandri Studio by Alexandra Pfister and Stefan Wiedmer. They sell design products from all over the world for sale on Josefstrasse. The finest craftsmanship is behind every product. And whoever enters the Label 17 store in Zurich’s Seefeld is taking a trip to Morocco. Christina McDaniel and David Pfrommer design chic bags and all kinds of accessories and have them made in handicraft workshops in Morocco.

4 – We’re going to Japan for dinner

The three restaurants Mori, Ikoo and Miki have teamed up for the Japanese pop-up restaurant Hikari Ramen. Until the end of February 2022, the Kyoto chef Keiko Iida will conjure up vegetarian and vegan Japanese noodle soups on the table. Anyone who has been here once quickly becomes a repeat offender – the soups are a poem.

5 – Here you can spend the night really chic
