Health crisis obliges, Dany Boon had to shake up his cinema agenda! Inspired by the restrictions linked to the Covid-19 epidemic, the filmmaker moved to Netflix last year with 8 Rue de l’Humanité.

This wacky comedy told the life of the inhabitants of a Parisian building during confinement. After this experience on the side of the streaming platform, Dany Boon quickly got back to work on his new cinema project.

For his 8th feature film as director and screenwriter, the artist has chosen to reform the duo of Bienvenue chez les Ch’tis and Supercondriaque! Kad Merad will therefore give him the reply in Life for real, expected for April 19, 2023 at the cinema.

Charlotte Gainsbourg will also be there in the role of Violette. The actress had already given the reply to Dany Boon in They are everywhere, directed by Yvan Attal in 2016.

The actor will play the character with the original first name: Tridan Lagache. The latter was born and lived all his life in a Club Med in Mexico. At 50, he decides to leave his lifelong environment for the first time to find Violette, his childhood sweetheart, and discover life for real.

In Paris, he is far from imagining the obstacles and perils that await him in his quest for truth and happiness, including the unexpected meeting of Louis, his older half-brother, whom he did not know and who will do anything to get rid of him. This brother will be camped by the hilarious Kad Merad.

Note that filming, which began on May 16, will take place in Italy, Belgium and France. Life for Real is produced by Pathé, 26 DB Productions and Artemis Productions.

Dany Boon’s return to cinemas is scheduled for April 19, 2023. The actor has also just been announced for the casting of François Ozon’s new film, Madeleine. He will share the bill there with Isabelle Huppert and Fabrice Luchini.

He also shot in the American comedy Netflix Murder Mystery 2 with Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston. He resumes his role of Inspector De La Croix, which he already held in the first opus in 2020.
