Dany Boon reveals the cast of his new comedy Life for real. The actor, screenwriter and director will find his faithful accomplice Kad Merad, but also a famous actress with whom he had played under the direction of Yvan Attal.
Dany Boon, ready to shoot his 8th feature film as director and screenwriter. From May 16, he will give the first clapperboard for La vie pour de vrai.
For the occasion, he will find one of his faithful accomplices, Kad Merad (Supercondriaque, Bienvenue chez les Ch’tis). The cast will also include Charlotte Gainsbourg, with whom Dany Boon had previously played for the sketch film, They are everywhere, by Yvan Attal.

As usual, Dany Boon will also play in the film. For this new comedy, the plot will take place against the backdrop of Club Med, at least for its starting point.
The pitch is as follows: Tridan Lagache (Dany Boon), was born and lived all his life in a Club Med in Mexico. At the age of 50, he decides to leave his lifelong environment for the first time to find Violette (Charlotte Gainsbourg), his childhood sweetheart, and discover life for real.
In Paris, he is far from imagining the obstacles and perils that await him in his quest for truth and happiness, including the unexpected meeting of Louis (Kad Merad), his older half-brother, whom he did not know and who will do anything to get rid of him.
Filming will take place in Italy, Belgium and France. Life for Real is produced by Pathé, 26 DB Productions and Artemis Productions. Expected release in spring 2023.
As a reminder, the latest film directed by Dany Boon, 8 rue de l’Humanité, was released directly on Netflix in October 2021. His last feature film in theaters dates back to La Ch’tite famille, released in February 2018.
