Daredevil Born Again: Marvel Studios announces the great return of the hero in a new series

Daredevil will make its big comeback on the screens! Four years after the cancellation of the Netflix series, the character will have the right to a second chance on Disney Plus with Born Again. Once again, Charlie Cox will put on the hero’s costume.

Daredevil returns! During San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios announced Born Again on Disney+. It will be a series dedicated to the man without fear which will sign the return of Charlie Cox in the role he has occupied since 2015.

For the moment, few details about this series, but we already know several very interesting things. First, it will consist of eighteen episodes. It is enormous ! It will be released in the spring of 2024 and will be included in Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Vincent D’Onofrio, aka the Kingpin, will also be back as the main antagonist.

Daredevil, character with an uncertain fate

The return of Daredevil enchants fans, especially since the fate of the character has long been suspended in the MCU. Matt Murdock, lawyer by day, vigilante by night, debuted on Netflix in 2015, as part of a partnership with Marvel Television (along with other New York heroes). The series was canceled after three seasons in 2018 ahead of the launch of Disney Plus. Marvel Studios then absorbed Marvel Television and canceled external projects to focus on in-house productions.

The fate of the Marvel/Netflix heroes, of which Daredevil is a part, was then uncertain. Marvel Studios ended up recovering the exploitation rights, and included the Netflix series on Disney Plus. Daredevil has been reintroduced into the MCU via Spider-Man No Way Home (a cameo) while the Kingpin served as the antagonist in the Hawkeye series. Note that Daredevil will also be in the next mini-series She-Hulk, scheduled for August 17. Other cameos will be planned, as in the Echo series.

Finally, the two characters will find the light in Born Again. The title is self-explanatory. Although it refers to a Frank Miller bow, it also seeks to make it clear to the viewer that the license will start again on a sound basis.

Daredevil is one of the most popular characters in the Marvel stable. His return is therefore logical.
