Daredevil: Born Again: the filming of the Marvel series once again interrupted

And two! According to our colleagues from Deadline, Daredevil: Born Again once again stopped production on Monday, June 12, due to the writers’ strike. The Marvel series had already had to interrupt production last May for a week.

The postponed Marvel series?

Currently filming at Silvercup East studios in New York, the future series scheduled for the Disney+ streaming platform did not film anything yesterday due to protests. The New York studios are also one of the main gathering places for protests by screenwriters from the Writer’s Guild of America.

As a reminder, this screenwriters’ strike concerns 11,500 industry professionals and has been going on since May 2. The Guild of American Screenwriters is in particular revolting against its current contract with the main association of production companies, the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP). The WGA denounces the obsolete nature of the current contract and requests in particular better financial compensation related to streaming.

This new interruption of Daredevil: Born Again raises the question of a potential postponement of the series. No one knows yet if filming will be able to resume this week. And if a handful of days of delay is not very serious for a production of this size, it could become problematic if the interruptions multiply. At the moment, the strike is still far from an agreement, and it is necessarily a parameter to take into account on the side of Marvel Studios.

Daredevil: Born Again is currently announced in 2024 on Disney + and will see the return of Charlie Cox in the skin of the blind vigilante, alongside Vincent D’Onofrio in Caïd and Jon Bernthal in Punisher. Far from the usual Marvel mini-series, this one will consist of no less than 18 episodes.
