Darkest Dungeon quickly met with great critical acclaim, it was evident that Red Hook Studios would take care of a second part. Darkest Dungeon II is available from October 2021 in Early Accessbut players were obviously waiting for the final version to launch.
It’s done, Darkest Dungeon II is now available in version 1.0on PC via Steam and theEpic Games Store. The title offers a 25% reduction on both platforms. Players who participated in Early Access on theEGS can transfer their backup to Steam if they prefer the client of Valve. Of course, the passage in version 1.0 is accompanied by a big update, here is the content now available in Darkest Dungeon II :
- Five campaigns (“Confessions”), each with its own gruesome boss and game mechanics;
- A roster of 12 heroes, including the recently revealed fan favorite: The Lasher. All heroes except the mercenary Bounty Hunter have a 5-part story with interactive chapters, each of which grants a persistent skill unlock;
- Four major regions to traverse and explore in addition to The Valley, the dangerous but rewarding Sluice, and the unique Mountains by Faith;
- An expanded metagame progression hub (“The Altar of Hope”) with strategic and cosmetic unlocks;
- Over 60 Steam and EGS achievements;
- 10 different companions, each with different properties to transform your adventure;
- Optional themed difficulty modifiers in the form of equipables from Radiant and Hellfire, for those who want more or less of a challenge.
