(Boursier.com) — The Indian Government has announced the selection of the Rafale Marine to equip the Indian Navy with a latest-generation fighter.

Following an international consultation launched by the Indian authorities, this decision comes at the end of a conclusive trial campaign held in India. In this context, the Rafale Marine has demonstrated that it fully meets the operational needs of the Indian Navy, and that it is perfectly suited to the specificities of its aircraft carrier.

THE 26 Navy Rafale of the Indian Navy will eventually join the 36 Rafales already in service, and “which give complete satisfaction to the Indian Air Force”.

India thus becomes the first country to make the same military choice as France by operating both versions of the aircraft, in order to help establish its superiority in the air and on the seas, and to guarantee its sovereignty.

“At a time when we are celebrating 70 years of our partnership with the Indian Forces, I thank the Indian authorities for this new sign of confidence and commit myself on behalf of Dassault Aviation to fully satisfy, with the Rafale, the expectations of Indian Navy,” said Eric Trappier, Chairman and CEO of Dassault Aviationwhich continues: “This selection confirms the excellence of the Rafale, the exceptional quality of the link between Dassault Aviation and the Indian Forces, and the importance of the strategic relationship between India and France”.
