PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones)–The aircraft manufacturer Dassault Aviation announced Thursday that Greece had signed a contract for the acquisition of six additional new Rafales.

“This new contract, which follows Greece’s acquisition of 18 Rafales in January 2021, will bring the number of Rafales operated by the Greek Air Force to 24,” the group said in a statement.

“Following the arrival on January 19, 2022 of the first six Rafales of the Greek Air Force at Tanagra Air Base, the 18 Rafales relating to the first contract will be fully deployed in Greece by the summer of 2023” , said Dassault Aviation.

The six additional Rafales will be delivered to the Greek Air Force from summer 2024.
