Dassault Aviation: the Thalès bargain

(Boursier.com) — Dassault Aviation has been a shareholder of Thales since 2009. This entry was made via the takeover of shares held by Alcatel. The Dassault family company then paid 1.57 billion Euros in exchange for 20.8% of Thalès’ capital.

The price chosen was 38 Euros per share. For comparison, the latter is currently at 146 Euros…

Dassault Aviation currently holds 26.05% of the capital of Thales vs. 24.62% as of December 31, 2022. The designer of the Rafale has in fact strengthened its participation during the past year to the tune of 301 ME.

In 2023, Thales’ contribution to Dassault Aviation’s net income increased significantly to €453 million compared to €386 million in 2022.
