Daughter-in-law wanted: This is how it continues with Vera Int-Veen's show

After the season finale of "Wanted: Daughter-in-Law", Vera presents her cookbook "Vera macht Mittag". And what's next with the show?

The TV industry is suffering from the corona restrictions. Vera Int-Veen (52) and her RTL show "Daughter-in-Law Wanted" actually had "more luck than brains", as the presenter reveals in an interview with the news agency spot on news. "The last filming was in Italy in January. When it started with Corona, we were able to edit the material in peace and finish the show. The season finale was shown in August," said Int-Veen, who is now her cookbook "Vera makes lunch" (September 17th, Olivia Verlag) published.

“Regardless of Corona,” the 52-year-old explains about her TV show, “at the end of the year we always think about how things will continue and start looking for new bachelors. This creative work can easily be done from home, without exposing ourselves to any danger. Filming always starts at the beginning of the year. "

"I'm too old for that"

So is the show going on in any case? "We have just successfully slipped into prime time. So it would be strange for the broadcaster not to continue the format," replies Vera Int-Veen. And she adds: "My contract runs for a year at a time. If we meet in a couple of weeks and discuss how things go from here, I'll think about it again like every year."

A talk show like "Vera am Mittag" (1996-2006) would no longer appeal to her today: "No, I'm too old for that. With such a large project, you get involved with new topics and people every day – you have to Live mornings to evenings, otherwise it won't be successful. I've been doing this for ten years. Now I have so many other great projects that keep me busy: I just don't have the time and, at 53, the energy, something like that at the moment I am getting my TV work and my job as an entrepreneur under one roof – but not much more is possible. "

"How to treat fresh food is in my blood"

"Vera makes lunch" is one of her other projects – she presents over 100 of her favorite dishes in the cookbook – and Int-Veen also produces spices, oils and vinegar in the food sector. Her love for good food and good food was practically inherited from her cradle, as she explains: "Yes, my grandparents already had a dairy shop and delivered milk by bike. Little by little, they expanded it into a grocery store."

Her father later opened his own business "and when competition with the big supermarkets arose in the 1970s, he specialized in delicatessen products. We already had fair trade and organic products back then. And I myself have a lot in this shop How you treat fresh food is in my blood ".

Even today, the TV star relies exclusively on organic products. And their own garden, in which Int-Veen plants a lot: "I always have potatoes, onions, apples, rocket and all kinds of herbs. There were tons of tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, raspberries and leeks as well as pumpkins this year. What I plant, but I also change from year to year. "
