Christina Applegate’s teenage daughter reveals what was the worst part after the actress was diagnosed with MS.

Christina Applegate’s (52) daughter Sadie (13) has spoken about the terrible effects of her mother’s illness. During an appearance on the “MeSsy” podcast, which Applegate co-hosts with fellow actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler (43), the 13-year-old said that certain things have been “really hard” for her since her mother was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2021.

“I remember when I was a kid, we would dance in her room for hours every night,” the 13-year-old said. “It was hard to see my mom lose a lot of the skills she had when I was a kid… It’s just really hard to see her go through that.”

Sadie also explained that it was “nice” to be able to support her mother in various ways. However, her mother is not always willing to let her daughter help her when she uses a wheelchair. Apparently the 52-year-old is afraid of ending up in a wall, as the two revealed with a laugh.

“I feel incredibly guilty”

Christina Applegate, who had Sadie with her husband Martyn LeNoble (55) in January 2011, said in the podcast episode that she often feels guilty as a parent when she has difficult days due to her illness. “I don’t want you to ever feel like I’m not able to be your protector, your mother,” the actress told her daughter. “I love you, I want to make you food, I want to bring it to you, I want to do all those things. And I do it when I can, and I feel incredibly guilty when I can’t.”

Sadie also spoke about her own health issues in the podcast. She revealed that she was recently diagnosed with postural tachycardia syndrome (POTS), which can cause, among other things, circulatory problems. “I feel like if I didn’t have this thing, it would be a lot harder to understand what my mom is going through,” she said. Sadie also suffers from misophonia, a hypersensitivity to certain sounds, she explained.

Christina Applegate speaks openly about her MS disease

Christina Applegate made her illness public in 2021, having been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis just a few months earlier. In their podcast, she and Sigler, who was diagnosed with MS in 2001, speak brutally honestly about the consequences of the neurological autoimmune disease and the new challenges in their everyday lives.

Among other things, the actress, who became famous as Kelly Bundy in the series “Married with Children” (1987-1997), often has severe pain in various parts of her body, which limits her enormously.
