In an interview with our colleagues from Paris Match, Dave confided in his hospitalization following his serious fall. With a lot of humor, the singer remembers having asked a very intimate question to his nurse.
Dave and his husband had a real scare on January 25th. Indeed, while they are at home, the singer falls very heavily. “He was there, lying on the ground, inert. I thought he was dead”, entrust her husband to Paris Matchhe, who succeeded in “pull Dave to the mat and put a pillow under his head”, while waiting for help. Transported to the emergency room, the artist is hospitalized in the Percy hospital. But during transport, Dave’s health deteriorates : “Your husband had two epileptic fits during his transfer. He fell into a coma, his condition is deteriorating, we don’t know if we’ll be able to save him.”
For many days the artist remains in a coma : “He had suffered such head trauma that his prognosis was uncertain”, although he did not have a stroke”. But as soon as he wakes up, Dave regains his senses and even his sense of humor. Indeed, he will allow himself to ask his nurse quite indiscreetly: “I asked my nurse if she had a lover…”But the consequences are still there: “The most terrible thing is that I have lost my taste and smell. However, eating is one of my favorite hobbies. It’s a real drama”.
Dave: “I’m fine”
The singer must now think about his health and visit many health specialists for this: “They left me alone for two weeks and, since March 7, I have been going back to the hospital every day: occupational therapy, speech therapy, physiotherapy, I even see a psychologist! (…) I have no right to driving for the next six months. Other than that, I’m fine”. Essential medical appointments if he wants to fully recover from this fall which could have cost him his life.
