“The X-Files” star goes among the podcasters

If you’re a celebrity these days, you have your own podcast – apparently that’s what “The X-Files” star David Duchovny thought.
“The X-Files” and “Californication” star David Duchovny, 63, has already made a name for himself as an actor, musician, writer and director. Now the 63-year-old is taking a path that many national and international celebrities have recently taken – he is starting his own podcast. Duchovny’s format will be called “Fail Better” – and according to the US site “Variety” that’s exactly what it’s all about. Duchovny wants to explore failure “in all its forms, from the professional to the personal” and show “the way in which failure, shame and inadequacies shape our lives.”
Duchovny will not do this alone. It is planned that he will welcome a different star guest in each of the weekly podcast episodes. According to “Variety”, the Hollywood stars Ben Stiller, 63, Bette Midler, 78, as well as comedian Sarah Silverman, 53, and various authors have already been confirmed.
A “connoisseur of failure”
According to the report, “Fail Better” will be available on all major podcast platforms from May this year. For Duchovny, the topic discussed is a matter of the heart, as he revealed in a statement. He has been “a connoisseur of failure for a long time and obsessed with the mistakes that we all make or are afraid of making.”
He continued: “I like to think about how these mistakes, coupled with the futility of trying to avoid them, shape our lives. If we all fail so often, why are we so afraid of them?” Anyone interested in another podcast can expect a very philosophical approach to the topic. Especially since the new podcast adventure Duchovny “fills me with my very own fears of failure.”
