David Garrett: Star violinist goes on "Alive" arena tour in early 2022

David Garrett is going on a major arena tour through Germany and Switzerland from the beginning of 2022. With his songs he wants to convey joy of life.

Star violinist David Garrett (40) is finally going on tour again. But the fans will have to wait some time before they can enjoy his manual dexterity. Because the 40-year-old naturally has to bow to the current situation and will not appear again until 2022. But then only the largest halls in Germany and a stadium in Switzerland are on the list of his "Alive" tour.

The starting shot will be given in Schwerin on January 6, 2022. This is followed by Cologne, Stuttgart, Nuremberg, Munich, Zurich, Erfurt, Leipzig, Berlin and finally Hamburg. Advance sales will start on October 28, 2020, initially exclusively from Eventim. General sales begin October 30, 2020.

He wants to convey hope

"After rain always comes sunshine, that's life and that's how I feel when it comes to music. At some point the day will come when we can meet again. Imagine how incredibly good it will feel!" explains Garrett. With his selection of songs he wanted to convey "zest for life and a lot of positive energy". It is about "this need to finally be really alive again", the musician continues. The repertoire, which includes Metallica's "Enter Sandman" and Pharrell Williams' "Happy" among others, is therefore hopeful, but would also reflect "the pain of recent times".
