After 14 years, Emily Stofle has filed for divorce from “Twin Peaks” creator David Lynch. It is his fourth failed marriage.

Love with the maker of classics like “Twin Peaks”, “Lost Highway” and “Mulholland Drive”. As the US celebrity portal “TMZ” reports, the wife of cult director David Lynch (77) has officially filed for divorce. According to the report, after 14 years of marriage, Emily Stofle (45) is demanding sole legal and physical custody of their daughter Lula Boginia Lynch (11), as well as spousal support and reimbursement of the resulting legal fees. However, the filmmaker should be granted visitation rights for Lula. Nothing is known about a marriage contract between the two.

The actress and the director met and fell in love in 2006 on the set of the David Lynch film “Inland Empire.” The two, who also worked together in the “Twin Peaks” reboot in 2017, married in 2009. Their first and only daughter was born in 2012.

David Lynch has been married three times

For David Lynch, this is not the first divorce of his life; he has been married three times before. With his first wife Peggy Sweeney (76) he has a daughter Jennifer (55), who also works as a director. His second wife Mary Fisk gave him his son Austin (41), who is an actor, and with his third wife Mary Sweeney, David Lynch had his son Riley (31), who earns his living as a musician.

In an interview with the British newspaper “The Guardian” In 2018, when asked about his personal life, the filmmaker said: “You have to be selfish. And that’s a terrible thing. I never really wanted to get married, I never really wanted to have children. But one thing leads to another and that’s the way it is. ” However, he always put his work first, which meant that he wasn’t the best husband and father: “I did what I had to do.”
