This May 4, Paris Première is devoting a documentary entitled Behind your applause to the star presenter Jacques Martin, who died in 2007. The sacred monster of the PAF, to whom we owe the success of the Petit rapporteur, of the Ecole fans or Sunday Martin, also had a busy family life since he was the father of 8 children, four boys and four girls born between 1961 and 1999. And while some rumors presented the former television star as a father little present, his eldest son, David, wanted to restore the truth at the microphone of Sud radio this Wednesday. “It’s a somewhat accepted idea!“, specified the cook before adding: “It’s not that he didn’t take care of his children, because he really took care of us… but in his own way. Me, I am apart, because I am the eldest. It was a time when he was not yet the star he later became. Words that contrast somewhat with those made by Elise Martin, David’s little sister. In the documentary Behind your applause which will be broadcast this Wednesday, Jacques Martin’s daughter says she has “painful memories” of the School of Fans era. “There was a disconnect between the man I saw on screen and the man I knew.
