On Saturday, David Prowse, the man under the mask of Darth Vader, died. It has now been announced that he succumbed to corona disease.

The death of Darth Vader actor David Prowse at the age of 85 shook this and the far, far distant Star Wars galaxy alike. As "The Sun" reports, the cause of death of the British actor is now known. Accordingly, his daughter Rachel (50) announced that the most famous film villain of all time died of corona disease.

So far only one short and serious illness had been reported that Prowse had succumbed to. According to the article, it was particularly painful for the bereaved that they could no longer see him because of the security guidelines in relation to Covid-19 and consequently could no longer say goodbye.

Prowse, who mostly played villains because of his imposing stature and had suffered from Alzheimer's disease for some time, but was a "gentle giant" until the end, his daughter is quoted as saying. This was also assured to his family by the hospital staff: "When we picked up his things from the hospital, the nurse emphasized again what a cool guy he was." He would have loved that his name was trending on Twitter, his daughter continued.
