“Dawson’s Creek” star Busy Philipps had to witness dramatic moments via Facetime. Her 15-year-old daughter suffered a seizure.

US actress Busy Philipps (44) has in her Podcast “Busy Phillipps Is Doing Her Best” talks about a dramatic moment as a mother. Her 15-year-old daughter Birdie suffered a seizure over the weekend, which she witnessed live via Facetime. Her ex-husband, the screenwriter and director Marc Silverstein (52), and father of her daughters Birdie and Cricket (11), received a call and immediately shouted for her. Horrifying images were then shown on the phone:

“It’s Birdie, it’s Birdie! She’s having a seizure. The paramedics are on the phone,” is all her ex-partner wrote. They then had to watch together in the video chat as rescue workers looked after their daughter. Birdie is currently in Sweden, where she is attending boarding school. Her daughter stretched out her hand towards the camera and called out to her: “Mom. Mom. Mom. Where are you? Mom.” It was shocking to witness it all: “It all felt so strange.” Her daughter’s companion filmed everything so that the “Dawson’s Creek” star and Silverstein could watch the events live.

Busy Philipps: She is trying to organize a private plane to Sweden

It was “terrible” to see her daughter suffering on the screen “in another country, on the other side of the ocean.” Birdie has recently been struggling with irregular seizures. The actress was on the set of her upcoming film “Mean Girls – The Girls Club” for the first time when it happened: “I couldn’t leave.” Her ex-husband Silverstein went straight to school, where paramedics were already looking after her daughter.

Birdie was lucky when she had her most recent seizure: According to Philipps, she was in a cinema in Stockholm with her friend Sarah, just two minutes away from a clinic. Two other visitors to the film theater made themselves useful as first aiders and immediately put the convulsing Birdie out of her chair and onto the floor. Another person immediately called the emergency number. Philipps is now trying to fly to her daughter in Sweden as quickly as possible. She is currently exploring whether she can charter a private plane.

Busy Philipps married Marc Silverstein in June 2007, their first daughter Birdie was born around a year later, followed by their second daughter in 2013. In May 2022, after around 15 years of marriage, she and Silverstein announced that they had been living separately for more than a year. However, they stated that they would continue to stay close together and want to look after their children together. According to consistent US media reports, the divorce has now been finalized.
