DAX changes from March 22nd
Beiersdorf flies – Siemens Energy moves up

Back chairs in the Dax: Beiersdorf's membership in the leading German index ends. A Siemens subsidiary is moving in for this. There are also changes in the indices below.

There is movement in the German stock indices: Siemens Energy is moving up into the top league of Deutsche Börse. The Munich energy technology company, which was spun off from Siemens last year, replaces the Hamburg consumer goods and cosmetics manufacturer Beiersdorf in the German stock index Dax, as decided by the stock exchange operator in Frankfurt. The Nivea manufacturer Beiersdorf was only promoted to the Dax at the end of 2008.

Hellofresh was also traded as a hot candidate, but has to be patient because the Kochbox provider did not present its business figures in time to be eligible for promotion. The online fashion retailer Zalando did not make it into the Dax this time either. This saves the construction supplier HeidelbergCement from being downgraded to the MDax small cap index for the time being.

Index funds have to follow suit

The latest changes will be implemented on Monday, March 22nd. Index changes are particularly important for funds that precisely replicate indices (ETF). There must then be reallocated and reallocated accordingly, which can affect the share price. The next Dax reorganization is due in around six months. Then the leading index will be expanded from 30 to 40 values.

Beiersdorf 83.38

The cooking box supplier Hellofresh had also been given chances to rise to the Dax. According to experts, the company is likely to have missed admission to the top stock market league because it did not present its annual figures at the end of February.

Since the end of 2020, one of the more stringent new stock exchange rules has said that a Dax candidate must have a positive operating result (before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, Ebitda) for two years in a row. According to the annual figures presented on March 2, Hellofresh managed to do that, but for Deutsche Börse, the month of February that has ended should have been the basis of its reviews.

Several changes in the M and SDax

Most recently, the most important German stock market index was re-sorted last summer. At that time, the international food delivery service Delivery Hero took over the place of the payment service provider Wirecard in the leading index, which is insolvent after a billions in accounting scandal.

in the MDax There will be four changes: In the second row next to Beiersdorf, Porsche Automobil Holding, the solar and wind farm operator Encavis and the wind turbine manufacturer Nordex are now listed. Siemens Energy, Aareal Bank, the Metro retail group and the Osram lighting group are saying goodbye.

in the SDax five places are newly assigned: Nordex, Encavis, Hornbach, Cropenergies and SNP Schneider-Neureither & Partner are excluded from the index. Osram, Metro, Aareal Bank, the semiconductor supplier Suess Microtec SE and the automotive supplier Leoni take the places. In the TecDax, SMA Solar replaces the title of the career network New Work.
