The Royal Ascot race week traditionally attracts the who’s who of British high society. The five-day horse race in Ascot, Britain, is like a family reunion of the blue bloods: On day three, King Charles, 75, sits next to his wife Camilla, 76, in the royal box to cheer on the jockeys with appropriate restraint. Queen Camilla shows in pictures published by the Daily Mailbut clearly more temperament.

When one of the horses doesn’t seem to be galloping as she wants, the Queen loses her noble composure for a moment. Judging by her expression, Camilla would have liked to throw her binoculars after the horse. The 76-year-old is dressed all in white, with a traditionally large hat with a tulle rose and a striking green Delhi carved emerald brooch. The piece of jewelry was once given to Queen Mary (1867-1953) in 1911 when she visited the Delhi Durbar, the coronation in India.

The king, who was represented on day two by his son Prince William, 41, combined a black top hat with a grey suit, a powder blue waistcoat and a dotted tie in pale purple.

A Windsor rarely comes alone

The monarch was accompanied by his niece Zara Tindall, 43, a keen horse rider, and her husband Mike Tindall, 45. The couple had also enjoyed the horse show the day before. Also present were Zara’s mother Princess Anne, 73, who was famously once an Olympic equestrian herself, and her husband Sir Admiral Timothy Laurence, 69.
