  • After the storms and floods in southern Norway, the situation has eased again.
  • Flooding may have peaked in most places.
  • The extent of the destruction only becomes fully visible once the water has drained away.

The water levels in the large inland lakes would remain at a high level for a few more days, said the Norwegian water and energy management authority NVE. The development ultimately depends on how much it will rain in the next few days.

Justice and Preparedness Minister Emilie Enger Mehl also said during a visit to one of the flood areas that it was not over yet. When the water recedes, people will still have to deal with the destruction that has been wrought.
