DayZ: a new 1.16 update with the arrival of the Bizon and an alarm clock

DayZ patch 1.16 is live, with a new weapon and a decoy. Bohemia takes the opportunity to give its 2022 roadmap, with at least one new weapon for each of the 5 updates of the year, and a first wipe to come.

DayZ is not dead. Bohemia survival has always a busy roadmap despite its almost decade of activity. The publisher unveiled a video of his 1.16, a new stability update that mainly fixes issues reported by players. So don’t expect a lot of additions this time around. However, the survivors will be able to discover a new weapon, the Bizon, a machine gun with .380 bullets with a huge magazine.

Among the improvements of the patch, some strangenesses have been corrected, bear traps can now break the legs of the infected or firearms with internal magazines now have a random amount of bullets. The publisher also states that there is no wipe with this 1.16. The first of the year will take place with 1.17.

To be clear, we won’t be cleaning with Update 1.16, but we will continue to do so on a semi-regular basis, based on loot changes and improvements. It is more than likely that the 1.17 update will be the first wipe of the year. The reasons for this decision are purely balance-related and we will make any necessary announcements in advance.

The alarm clock also makes its appearance, and allows players to see the time in-game, but also to use it as a decoy to scare players or attract zombies. With this update, the publisher takes the opportunity to reveal its plans for 2022. The game will receive five updates in total, and will hold 4 seasonal events. Each update will offer at least one new weapon, mainly civilian. Greater stability for driving vehicles is also being developed.
