Since its launch in December 2013, DayZ has seen many things, including the release of its early access, in December 2018, after five years of evolution. However, the reviews have not always been positive, the fault of a multitude of problems and, above all, a more than wobbly optimization. Nevertheless, in recent months, the trend has changed, in particular thanks to several major updates.
Thereby, reviews have hardly ever been so positive and best of all concurrent player counts on Steam have just been beaten. This April 24, it is not less than 58,240 people playing DayZ at the same time, on the Valve platform. This is 6,000 more users than the last record, which stood at 52,696, in January this year.
Moreover, despite the negative reviews from some, the number of players has been constantly increasing since the confinement, in March 2020, which does suggest that the experience has improved. Still in 2020, DayZ had over 6 million active players, a data that is probably much more important two years later. Remember that the survival game is also available on PlayStation and Xbox consoles, but also in the Xbox Game Pass. Finally, the various updates, including the last one, make it possible to bring players back, but also to attract new ones.
