DayZ: Update 1.17 is available, details of additions and improvements

DayZ players welcome, this April 19, a new update with 1.17, the second of the year 2022. Few things are to report on the side of major additions, but Bohemia Interactive has been full of small improvements. Several parameters have, in this sense, been added or modified in terms of sensitivity, to better adjust the controls, whether for those using the keyboard / mouse fight, or a joystick. We also have some improvements on the voice chat (VOIP) side, with an overhaul of the voice interface during exchanges, and the possibility of modifying the distance from which the voice can be heard.

On the gameplay side, a few points are also worth noting, especially with crafting. The gas mask, which has been useful for a few months, can be crafted by players (in an improvised version), which can also be refilled with charcoal pellets. A belt and battery holder can also be crafted. Some other crafting has been revised, such as the stone knife. Finally, kitchen utensils have a lifespan, and different heat sources can increase your thermal comfort (versus just fireplaces, before this update).

Finally, as we said above, the Walpurgis Night event is making a comeback. It aims to highlight a popular traditional festival in Northern and Central Europe, particularly in the Czech Republic, the country in which Bohemia Interactive is based. The Walpurgis Night event, and its items, such as witches’ clothes, will be available from April 19 to May 9.
