Teased for several months, C-21 in lab gear was finally officially presented during Battle Hour 2022. The professional players participating in the event also had the opportunity to show the friendly version of the main antagonist of Bandai Namco’s game. They were required to play her at least once during the tournament, which allowed spectators to get a clearer idea of her abilities. While some of her punches are reminiscent of her hunger-ruled counterpart, other fighters seem to have inspired the scientist’s fighting technique.
In particular, it has a projectile reminiscent of Frieza’s death ray, the barrier of Android 18 and a spinning top reminiscent of Bardock’s Raging Meteor, but better. This last special also seems to be able to touch behind C-21 in a blouse, potentially giving him the possibility of punishing a vanish, or of being used in cross-up. His kit also includes a few command grabs, including a super one. Little icing on the cake, his 5L is a low, and one of his supers activates a 21% damage debuff (the character who suffered the super will do 21% less damage). The character hasn’t been released yet, but that’s not stopping some of the community from bitching on social media, claiming this new fighter is a future top third and should be nerfed.
In any case, Yasha managed to show part of her potential, by making a comeback with her, facing Wawa who still had her three characters alive (including a C-21 in laboratory clothing too). It will be available from February 24, 2022.
Nothing else has been announced for the game, be it a fourth season, new characters, netcode change with rollback integration or even a balancing patch. The community is generally quite disappointed by this lack of announcement, and the rate of salt and seum generated on hashtags related to DBFZ is over 9000.
