DBT accelerates its technological advance with the commissioning of its development platform
EV Test-Lab
The DBT group (Euronext Growth – ALDBT), a European specialist offering sustainable solutions for electric mobility, announces the commissioning of its “EV Test-Lab”, a unique charging analysis and simulation platform for electric vehicles.
A pioneer in electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in France and Europe, DBT intends with this investment to offer ever more reliable and robust solutions that anticipate future standards (ISO15118, OCPP2.0, new 1000V batteries). The system, supplied and commissioned by ES-France, enables DBT to test its high-power chargers by simulating any electric vehicle with the logging of each parameter. DBT will thus be able to create a single database of the charging characteristics of all EVs on the market, allowing them to be fully traceable on all networks of terminals using DBT chargers.
This brand new generation laboratory equipment allows DBT to take a step ahead of its competitors insofar as there are currently only 4 other stations of this type in France, most of them from car manufacturers.
DBT already anticipates real gains on:
The speed of development of new products by simulating the charging of one or more electric vehicles
Updating terminals on installed networks
Manufacturing line productivity by accelerating final test steps
The quality and traceability of products manufactured in production,
This project is the culmination of a plan to modernize and digitize DBT’s industrial tool. The total amount of the investment, ie €1.6m, was financed equally by DBT (in equity) and by the Modernization Fund within the framework of France Relance. This public funding program aims to support companies seeking to (re)localize production in the territories, modernize production lines, support innovation and decarbonize the industry.
In addition to the technological competitive advantage that this platform gives DBT, the establishment of the EV Test-Lab is part of a strong CSR approach of the company. This equipment now makes it possible to make significant savings on energy consumption. The intelligent battery system reinjects up to 95% of the electricity used, thus operating in a quasi-closed circuit.
”
We are very proud to announce the commissioning of the EV Test-Lab which is the result of an innovative business project initiated almost 18 months ago. This represents a triple outcome for DBT. First, a
financial outcome
with the support, alongside our shareholders, of the French State and the Hauts de France Region, who believed in this ambitious industrial project. A
strategic outcome
since the EV Test-Lab allows us to have a strong competitive advantage on the market. And finally
the culmination of a company policy
aiming to internalize technical design and manufacturing activities to position us today as the only integrated industrial player on the French market. »,
concludes Alexandre BORGOLTZ, Managing Director of DBT
