DBT: R3, the DBT charging station operator, displays strong momentum in H1 2024 and confirms its objectives – 06/10/2024 at 08:00

R3, the DBT charging station operator, displays

strong momentum in H1 2024 and confirms its objectives:

  • Nearly 60 operational sites by the end of June 2024

  • An order book which already secures two thirds of the annual objective of 50 openings in 2024

  • Doubling of average monthly billing compared to 2023

Norauto site in Faches-Thumesnil (Hauts de France), the operator of ultra-fast charging stations R3 is enjoying real success with 56 locations already operational and around thirty currently being deployed. The network will pass the milestone of 60 sites in operation at the beginning of summer

In 2023, the majority of installations were focused on the Norauto project, which now has 42 stations, while in 2024 deployments mainly concern sites with other partners.

Responding to a growing need among electric vehicle users for rapid charging, R3 stations offer a suitable offer both in terms of availability (rate of 98% on the R3 network compared to a national average of 78% for all terminals and 74% for ultra-fast terminals*), ease of use and price.

By allowing your car to be recharged in between 10 and 30 minutes, R3 has established itself as a key player in the new challenges of electric mobility. In accordance with its objectives presented during the last capital increase, DBT confirms the opening of 50 new stations in 2024, two thirds of which are already secured. This will make it possible to reach a network of 100 operational stations by the end of 2024.

Regarding the monthly electricity consumption of the R3 network, this has doubled compared to 2023, under the combined effect of the development of the number of charging stations and the increase in consumption on the network. This demonstrates the match between R3’s local offering in places of life and the demand of electric vehicle users. This increase in electricity consumption, which will accelerate in H2 2024, will result in strong growth in R3’s turnover in 2024.

The success of the R3 project is the result of a disruptive strategy for the Group which is based on a detailed analysis of user needs. This trend gives our stations market share in places of life, thanks to the quality and innovative nature of our ultra-fast terminals as well as their ease of use and payment. We will accelerate the deployment of new stations in 2024 to target 100 sites at the end of the financial year and prepare for the future with a target of 300 by the end of 2026,” comments

Alexandre BORGOLTZ, General Director of DBT.

ABOUT DBT

French leader in electric mobility with recognized expertise in charging electric vehicles. In its market, DBT benefits from a solid position resulting from a period of intense investments between 2020 and 2023, having led to a profound transformation of the group, which is now focused on two complementary activities:

• Since 1992, a historic activity of design, manufacturing and sales of fast electric charging stations. With a wide range of state-of-the-art terminals, DBT meets the equipment needs of public and private spaces. Its innovative B2B range of Milestone® fast terminals launched in 2023, which is entirely designed and assembled in France, covers the entire spectrum of charging from 7 to 180 kW;

• Since 2022, a new activity of operator of high-power charging stations “R3 – Rapid Charging Network”, already with 55 operational stations. This network, which should reach nearly 350 stations by the end of 2026, then 1,000 by the end of 2030, targets strategic locations on destination sites such as shopping centers, restaurant chains, large specialized stores rather than large transit sites such as than highways.

These two strategic axes should allow DBT to make the most of a booming market, supported by government initiatives such as the objective of 400,000 terminals installed in France by 2030. By combining the sale of terminals and of electric charging services, DBT offers a complete solution to meet the growing needs of electric mobility. Based in Brebières in Hauts-de-France, the DBT group has been listed on Euronext Growth since December 2015.
