DC Universe: Superman and Batman take inspiration from Marvel with a ten-year plan!


After the outright cancellation of the release of the film Batgirl, Warner Bros. has made an announcement about its plans for DC-branded feature films.

At an event focusing on the firm’s second quarter results, Warner CEO David Zaslav spoke about it.

“Look at Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, these are brands that are known all over the world”he said. “The possibility of continuing to expand their universes around the world through their stories is a unique opportunity for us”he continued.

“We started from scratch with a restructuring of the whole business. A specially dedicated team will now focus on a current 10-year DC plan”he announced.

The big boss of Warner then confessed that his models came from Disney, with the management of ex-boss Bob Iger and his creative director Alan Horn. The way they gave the keys to the Marvel Cinematic Universe to Kevin Feige is an inspiration to David Zaslav.

“Our plan will be similar to the structure that Bob Iger and Alan Horn put in place very effectively with Kevin Feige at Disney. We believe we can build a thriving business around DC. the films are of high quality”he reassured.

Addressing the delicate question of the cancellation of Batgirl, Zaslav insisted that Warner would not release a feature film until it was 100% ready. “We will not make films just to fill boxes.

The question will arise as follows: how can we ensure that our films are as good as possible? And concerning DC we have many levers of improvement. And we’re going to focus on that.”he confided.

Zaslav then wanted to express his excitement about upcoming DC works, including Black Adam with Dwayne Johnson, Aquaman 2 or Shazam 2. As for The Flash, it is still scheduled for June 2023 despite the escapades of its main actor Ezra Miller .
