DDR5 memory could boost performance of Intel’s Raptor Lake CPUs by nearly 20%

A priori expected in mid-October, the new generation of processors Intel Raptor Lake could greatly benefit from the DDR5.

More specifically, and according to Bench leaksthis boost of around 20% could be found in multi-core performance.

Raptor Lake faster thanks to DDR5?

Intel is expected to debut its new line of Raptor Lake processors in mid-October with the Core i9-13900K, Core i7-13700K, and Core i5-13600K, in addition to the high-end Z790 chipset for motherboards.

Each new processor intends to surpass itself and always offer more cores, more cache and ever better performance than its predecessor from the previous generation. To help it in this exercise, it could be that DDR5 is a companion of choice.

In any case, this is what emerged from benchmarks carried out on the Core i7-13700K. In performance multi core, a significant boost of 20% was recorded. However, this should be put into perspective, as no performance gain has been reported in single core. DDR5 even seems to be 1% less efficient than DDR4, but with a margin of error.

If these preliminary results seem promising and confirm that DDR5 goes well with Intel processors (the Alder Lake generation was more efficient thanks to DDR5), it is still far too early to know if Raptor Lake will really sign the swan song. of DDR4.
