Dead Cells: 10 million sales and more updates until 2025 for the French metroidvania

When he launched Dead Cells in 2018 (or even in 2017 in Early Access), Motion Twin probably did not expect such commercial success. And yet, for the past five years, the retro action and adventure game Metroidvania with mechanics roguelite sells in the millions on computers, consoles and mobiles.

Today, Motion Twin And Evil Empire announce that Dead Cells has sold over 10 million copies on pc, playstation, Xbox, Switch, iOS and Android. It must be said that the developers have pampered their game since its inception, with no less than 34 free updates, collaborations with other licenses and paid extensions, including Return to Castelvania last March.

The adventure is not over, Dead Cells will be entitled to a native port on PS5 next August, at the same time as a Return to Castelvania Editionpre-order at €44.99 on Amazon. And even if Motion Twin obviously working on a new game, he will continue to publish updates for Dead Cells until 2025. Suffice to say that the players are not ready to let go of the controller.
