Dead Island 2 passes the milestone of 3 million copies sold – Gamosaurus

Released in April 2023 on the Epic Games Store, Xbox and PlayStation and available for a month on Steam, Dead Island 2 seems to have found its audience. Indeed, the title has just exceeded 3 million copies sold, after one year of existence. As a reminder, the first million were sold in just 3 days.

A success due to a post-apo atmosphere which doesn’t really take itself seriously and which offers a gigantic release in which to smash zombies. And yet, with its almost 10 years of delay in terms of development, success was far from being a foregone conclusion for the title of Deep Silver and Dambuster.

But if Dead Island 2 does not propose a revolution of the genre, it still proudly follows in the footsteps of its predecessor. In addition to the 3 million copies sold, the title has attracted nearly 7 million players in total and can also say thank you to Game Pass for that.
