During a recent Q&A session with Game Informer journalists, developers from studio Dambuster indicated that six playable characters will be offered on Dead Island 2. Until now, we only knew four: Ryan, Dani, Jacob and Amy. Gold, the development studio and the publisher in charge of the title have just revealed another one.
A new trailer presents Carla
Carla is the fifth playable character, and therefore Zombie Slayer, of Dead Island 2. Thanks to a trailer recently shared, we learn that Carla, originally from Los Angeles, worked before the apocalypse as a mechanic. The latter loves adrenaline and hates being bored. On the official website, its description is as follows:
[…] A stunt rider on a motorcycle, Carla is no stranger to fire rings, ravine jumps and aerial stunts, and the zombie apocalypse barely broke a sweat from her. Trained in the school of the streets and armed with an outgoing character and an infinite confidence in her physical abilities, she welcomes the challenge of skimming the hell of LA with great enthusiasm. […]
In terms of skills, Carla can benefit from a resistance bonus when her health is low thanks to “Last Forces”. The one titled “Pogo” gives him a minor damage bonus” when there are multiple zombies nearby “. Which sounds pretty interesting on paper. Remember, in this regard, that Dead Island 2 will offer a card system rather than a skill tree.
It is from April 28, 2023 that we will be able to discover Dead Island 2. On that date, the title will be available on PlayStation, Xbox and PC consoles. Note, also, that several editions and pre-order bonuses are planned.
