Dead Space: Glen Schofield congratulates Motive Studio on the remake

The war of survival horror in space has taken place, and Dead Space has already managed to make people forget The Callisto Protocol, despite its qualities. The remake developed by Motive Studio appealed to nostalgics of the original installment and newcomers, even the creator of the franchise and director of The Callisto Protocol admit it.

As a reminder, Glen Schofield is the co-creator of dead spaceat the time of Visceral Gameshe later co-founded Sledgehammer Games (Call of Duty: WWII) then Striking Distance Studioswho therefore gave birth to The Callisto Protocol last December. A title in direct competition with the remake of his 2008 baby, in which he is not involved, but Glen Schofield still wanted to congratulate the developers.

In a message posted on LinkedInin response to a first post full of positivity from his daughter Nicole, artist at Striking Distance StudiosGlen Schofield says:

To all of you who worked on the original, thank you for your contributions to an amazing game. It has stood the test of time. And to Motive, thank you for your care in recreating the game faithfully. Congratulations.

As for player feedback, Dead Space has everyone in agreement with an average of 89/100 on Metacritic (8.7/10 according to the players), while The Callisto Protocol stagnates at 70/100 (6.9 according to the players). Be that as it may, let’s not forget that the success of the first dead space (2008) comes a lot from Glen Schofield, although Motive Studio has sublimated its vision thanks to new technologies. You can find dead space (2023) at €69.99 on Amazon.
