England: Jorginho is set to further stabilize Arsenal’s midfield
The Premier League leader has hit the transfer market again. With Jorginho, Arsenal are creating additional breadth in their squad. The Italian central midfielder is moving from Chelsea to the Gunners in London. Arsenal are paying Jorginho around 12 million euros and equipping the 31-year-old with a contract until 2024 with an option for a further year.
Germany: Bayern Munich loan Cancelo
Bayern Munich have signed Joao Cancelo just before the end of the winter transfer window. The German record champions are loaning the Portuguese international from English champions Manchester City until the end of the season. Bayern Munich have only drawn three times in the league and are now strengthening themselves with the defender. However, Bayern have an option to buy the 28-year-old. This should amount to 70 million euros. Cancelo recently had a difficult time at City under coach Pep Guardiola after being the undisputed regular player in the autumn.
England: Freulers Nottingham signs Navas
Nottingham Forrest is also gearing up for Winter Deadline Day. The Premier League promoted team announced 3 newcomers on Tuesday. The best-known name is undoubtedly goalie Keylor Navas. The 36-year-old Costa Rican has been loaned out by PSG until the end of the season. Navas is set to replace injured first-choice goalkeeper Dean Henderson. Nottingham have also joined central defender Felipe from Atletico Madrid and midfielder Jonjo Shelvey from Newcastle.
England: New full-back for Tottenham
Tottenham have signed their dream player in the position of right-back. Pedro Porro joins Spurs from Sporting Lisbon. The 23-year-old Spaniard signed a contract with the Londoners until the summer of 2028. The transfer fee is said to be 45 million euros. On the same day, Tottenham announced the early termination of Matt Doherty’s contract. The Irish right-back will join Atletico Madrid until at least the end of the season.
Netherlands: Hazard from Dortmund to PSV
Borussia Dortmund has parted ways with Thorgan Hazard for the time being. As the Bundesliga club announced on Tuesday, the Belgian international, who has a contract until 2024, will be loaned out to the Dutch first division club PSV Eindhoven until the end of this season.
Germany: Schalke 04 brings in Eder Balanta
Schalke 04 makes its sixth winter signing. Eder Balanta is new to the “Royal Blues”. The defensive midfielder is on loan from Club Brugge until the end of the season. “The commitment gives us the necessary flexibility, international experience and physical presence, which will certainly do our squad good and give the coach more options for his game,” said sporting director Peter Knäbel. Balanta had still played for FC Basel in 2019.
