Deadline extension for European Championship tickets: UEFA gives fans a “last chance”

Deadline extension for EM tickets
UEFA gives fans a ‘last chance’

If you don’t pay, you will lose your EM ticket. The money for the allocated tickets from the December sales phase for the 2024 European Football Championship originally had to be transferred by 2 p.m. on Tuesday. This is what UEFA told the ticket winners. In the afternoon it was reported that the deadline would be extended until Wednesday at 4 p.m. A “last chance”, as the UEFA email said.

What exactly happens if you don’t pay for your tickets?

Unpaid tickets will be returned for sale. There is no option to only pay for some cards from an allocation. In this case you lose the entire order. The recommendation was therefore to only apply for games that you actually want to attend. A cancellation is not possible.

What other options are there to buy tickets?

In March, UEFA is set to open a resale platform on which unwanted cards can be resold. Another major sales phase is not planned. However, there will be a last minute sale during the tournament. UEFA said: “There may be further opportunities to purchase tickets in 2024. Further details about future ticket sales will be announced in due course.”

How many tickets are available in total?

Of a total of 2.7 million tickets, around 500,000 are still available. The exact number will only be known on Tuesday afternoon, when unpaid tickets are returned to the organizers. 2.2 million tickets were allocated in the two major sales phases. Demand exceeded supply in both phases.

Are EM tickets transferable?

Conditional. If you are unable to attend a game for health reasons, you can pass your ticket on to a friend or family member. The personal data of the new ticket holder must be communicated to the tournament organization within a certain period of time. You are not entitled to a refund for the card.
