** Edison’s gas storage assets have attracted bids from four Italian and international suitors, setting the stage for a deal that could be worth more than 600 million euros ($648 million), two sources familiar said of the affair.

** AXA AXAF.PA is considering selling some of its Western European protection insurance business in a deal that could reach 1 billion euros ($1.1 billion), two people told Reuters close to the file.

**Japanese life insurer Dai-Ichi Life Holdings 8750.T said it plans to launch a higher tender offer for healthcare platform Benefit One
