On the second anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death, Charles and Camilla attended a service in a small church.
Exactly two years ago, Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022) died at the age of 96. On the anniversary of her death, her son, King Charles III (75), attended a church service in Scotland together with his wife, Queen Camilla (77).
Recent pictures show Charles and Camilla arriving at the small church Crathie Kirk, which is located near the late queen’s beloved Balmoral Castle. The castle usually served as the summer residence of Elizabeth, who died there on September 8, 2022.

On the official Instagram account of the royal family On the anniversary of her death, the palace posted a short post about the late British queen. “In memory of Queen Elizabeth II, 1926-2022,” it said around Sunday lunchtime next to a picture in which the monarch looks up to the sky, laughing. Royal fans also commented in numerous comments. “We miss you, Your Majesty,” one reads. She is referred to as “Elizabeth the Great” and will always be missed and never forgotten.

In Scotland, Charles was first called “Your Majesty”
Although Charles was in Scotland, he learned of the Queen’s death on his cell phone in his car, as Robert Hardman claims in his book “Charles III: New King. New Court. The Inside Story.” published earlier this year. from which the “Daily Mail” quotesKing Charles ascended the throne, so to speak, at the wheel of his car, which had stopped briefly for the call: “On the afternoon of September 8, 2022 […] will go down in history that her son and heir was sitting at the wheel of his car on an unmarked Scottish country road when he was first addressed as ‘Your Majesty’.”
Charles had previously visited his mother at Balmoral Castle before retreating to the nearby Birkhall estate for a few hours. As the prince at the time, he got into the car to make the short journey back to his mother: “Twenty minutes later, he would get out again as King Charles III – with the new queen at his side.”
