PARIS (Reuters) – Actor, musician and singer Guy Marchand died on Friday at the age of 86, his children announced to AFP.

This cheeky Parisian born in 1937, clarinetist, keen on tango, made himself known in the 1960s with his crooner’s voice in several successful titles including “La Passionata” or “Destinée”, made famous by the film “Le Père Christmas is rubbish.”

Guy Marchand also had a long career in cinema, rewarded with a César for best supporting role for “Garde à vue” in 1982, and on television, in the series “Nestor Burma” in particular.
