In the wake of the tragedy, Anne Heche is remembered by many in touching tributes: messages of love and appreciation for the actress, her work and her activism are pouring in on social media from friends and former playing partners or high-profile admirers.
In a statement obtained by People, Robert De Niro expressed his grief. “I am very sad to learn of the tragic death of Anne Heche. She was a wonderful actress and I really enjoyed working with her in People of Influence. Sad ! Sad ! Sad !”
Ellen DeGeneres, former partner of Anne Heche, spoke on Twitter. “It’s a sad day. Also on Instagram, Alec Baldwin spoke at length in a video where he shares his memories of the actress, a tribute accompanied by a simple “heartbreaking…”. The two actors have indeed given the reply on the boards in the comedy luxury train in 2004 in which Anne Heche played the role of Lily Garland – a performance that earned her a Tony Award nomination.

She was as wacky and absolutely fabulous as I could have ever dreamed of. An immense talent to whom I loved giving the reply and above all a [personne] human and a really decent friend. The news is just infinitely sad.”
