Death of Anshu Jain, former co-chief executive of Deutsche Bank


FRANKFURT (Reuters) – Anshu Jain, the former co-chief executive of Deutsche Bank AG, died early on Saturday aged 59 after a long and serious illness, the bank said.

“Anshu Jain has played a key role in the development of Deutsche Bank, particularly in the global capital market,” said Alexander Wynaendts, chairman of the bank’s supervisory board.

The Indian-born banker was appointed to Deutsche Bank’s board of directors in 2009 and was responsible for the corporate and investment banking division from 2010. From 2012 to 2015, he was co-CEO.

According to Bloomberg News, Anshu Jain had been suffering from cancer for five years.
