One of the actors of this flagship program of the 1990s, Dustin Diamond aka Samuel Powers says "Screech", died Monday February 1, 2021. According to the actor's agent, Roger Paul, whose The world echoed, Dustin Diamond died of cancer. American people magazine TMZ reports that the artist was allegedly suffering froma stage 4 lung tumor. The 44-year-old actor had been hospitalized since January in a hospital in Florida and would have learned of his illness only in December. Still according to the same media, it seems that Dustin Diamond would have been accompanied during this painful fight against the disease, since his companion, Amanda Schultz, was present when he took his last breath.

Mario Lopez, who played A. C Slater in Saved by the Bell paid a poignant tribute to his former sidekick, by posting a photo of the two on his Instagram account. "Dustin, you will be missed. The fragility of life is something that should never be overlooked. We pray for your family", wrote the actor, visibly upset by the news.
