The news came in the early evening on May 28, 2020: Guy Bedos died at the age of 85. Her son Nicolas announced it on social media. Throughout his career, the actor played the snipers, armed with his squeaky and corrosive humor. Under skilfully combed white hair, the humorist displayed a mischievous look which gave him the air of an eternal boy. Like Pierre Desproges, Coluche or Jean Yanne, Guy Bedos is one of those humorists who have gone through several decades. He appeared at the theater (the Resistant Ascension of Arturo Ui, by Brecht) and at the cinema (the Pistonne, the diptych We will all go to paradise – An elephant is very deceiving, New Years Eve at Bob…). But it was on stage that the native of Algiers acquired his letters of nobility. First of all in duet, with that which was its partner also in the life, Sophie Daumier.

At the end of his autobiography I will remember everything in 2015, Guy bedos recounted the pain felt after the loss of his former partner. The couple met in the 60s. A marriage in 1965 then a divorce, 12 years later, after having had a daughter, Mélanie. Despite the separation, the former lovers remained close. In an interview with the magazine VSD, Guy Bedos evoked Huntington's disease from which suffered his ex-wife, deceased in 2003. A genetic disease which involves a slow irreversible neuronal degeneration and which slowed down the career of Sophie Daumier. "I stole from Simone Signoret this sentence: "I don't dislike." So there you go, I love my current wife and it's life to death between us, but I never stopped thinking about Sophie", said the humorist. He said that Sophie Daumier's end of life was a real one for him"nightmare"It is, moreover, the same illness that affected the actress' son, Philippe, 40, adopted by Guy Bedos in 1969 and disappeared in 2010.
