Officer in the magazine Point of viewthe daughter of the famous French designer Georges Wolinski, who was assassinated in the terrorist attack that targeted Charlie Hebdo on January 7, 2015, revealed that she had developed a cocaine addiction during her youth. “When I started using cocaine, I was 20 years old. I loved the night, the party… I loved movies that talk about nightclubs, thugs, drugs… I was on it. And after, I had very bad company“, she explained.

Elsa Wolinski: “I started taking drugs from 12 p.m.”

I did cocaine for twelve or fifteen years, every day. I never liked doing drugs, really. I think I was taking drugs only to die, to choke, and I was fasting until 11 o’clock. I started taking drugs from 12 p.m.“, also added the one who also officiates as a columnist in the program Bel et bien on France 2. It was only after having been “put on antidepressants“, that Elsa Wolinski managed to quit cocaine.”I stopped taking it. I had been taking it for fifteen years. I don’t know why I stopped. I could not any more“, she indicated, before discussing the role played by the death of her mother in this decision. “When I saw my mother dead, I said to myself: ‘But, I saw myself with my antidepressants’. When my mother died at the clinic, I brought her little baby doll to her so that she could be with her baby in her coffin (…) And I said to myself: ‘No ! I don’t want this picture!’“, pointed out the journalist.
