Death of Jean-Jacques Beineix: the date and place of the funeral revealed


Jean-Jacques Beineix died on January 13 at the age of 75. On January 18, the director’s family shared an announcement on social media, revealing the date and place of his funeral.

The world of cinema mourns the director Jean Jacques Beineix. The filmmaker died on Thursday January 13 at the age of 75. He succumbed to a long illness, as announced by his brother Jean-Claude to AFP. Famous film director 37°2 in the morning, Jean-Jacques Beineix unveiled Béatrice Dalle in the role of Betty. He made the movies Diva, The Moon in the Gutter, Roselyne and the Lions, IP5: The Island of Pachyderms or Deadly transfer. Jean-Jacques Beineix had also worked for Claude Zidi as first assistant director, notably on the films The shallot race, the wing or the thigh, and The Animal.

His last film was released in theaters in 2001. If he had had several projects afterwards, they were all aborted, such as the adaptation ofgoodbye up there which was directed by Albert Dupontel and released on screens in 2017. Beineix also wanted to adapt Bowler hat and leather boots, but because of a disagreement on the screenplay he was never able to materialize this project. He also made several documentaries., like The Children of Romania, Place Clichy without complex, Loft Paradoxe or The Gauls beyond the myth.

The world of cinema in mourning

The announcement of the director’s death plunged the world of cinema into mourning. As the family announced in an announcement relayed by AFP, the funeral of Jean-Jacques Beineix will take place this Thursday, January 20 at 10:30 a.m., in the Saint-Roch church in the 1st arrondissement of Paris.
