Jean Jacques Beineix is dead after a long illness, at the age of 75. Writer, dialogue writer, screenwriter and producer, the latter made himself known to the general public in 1980 with his very first feature film, called Diva, thanks to which he immediately managed to impose its trademark, located between aesthetics and poetry. He was notably the assistant of Jean Becker, Claude Berri and Claude Zidi, great filmmakers who inspired his work.
Jean Jacques Beineix will also work with Yves Montand, in IP5, released in theaters in 1992. His last production dates back to 2001, with Deadly Transfer. One feature film featuring Helen of Fougerolles which was a critical and commercial failure. Subsequently, the filmmaker made several documentaries, before turning to the theater.
