Death of Jean-Jacques Beineix: the location and date of the director’s funeral revealed


The date and place of Jean-Jacques Beineix’s funeral have been announced at the Saint-Roch church in Paris. A final tribute will be paid to the filmmaker who died on January 13, at the age of 75.

The date and place of the funeral of the filmmaker who died on January 13 were revealed by Jean-François Guyot of Agence France Presse, Tuesday January 18. “#Funeral of filmmaker Jean-Jacques Beineix Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the Saint-Roch church, the Parisian parish of artists, seat of the Chaplaincy of performing artists”, announces the culture journalist on Twitter. “The religious ceremony will be celebrated on Thursday January 20, at 10:30 a.m., in the Saint-Roch church, 296, rue Saint-Honoré, Paris (1st)”, can we read on the announcement.

A last film released in 2001

Jean Jacques Beineix is dead after a long illness, at the age of 75. Writer, dialogue writer, screenwriter and producer, the latter made himself known to the general public in 1980 with his very first feature film, called Diva, thanks to which he immediately managed to impose its trademark, located between aesthetics and poetry. He was notably the assistant of Jean Becker, Claude Berri and Claude Zidi, great filmmakers who inspired his work.

Jean Jacques Beineix will also work with Yves Montand, in IP5, released in theaters in 1992. His last production dates back to 2001, with Deadly Transfer. One feature film featuring Helen of Fougerolles which was a critical and commercial failure. Subsequently, the filmmaker made several documentaries, before turning to the theater. It will then be necessary to wait until 2020 for Jean-Jacques Beineix to return to the front of the stage, with a first novel. baptized Toboggan, this book deals with different themes such as childhood, the passage of time and loneliness.
