Death of Jean-Pierre Pernaut: this macabre dream of Nathalie Marquay a few months before his death

The death of Jean-Pierre Pernaut saddens tens of millions of French people, starting with his family. The widow of the late news presenter, Nathalie Marquay, received many messages of support from relatives and viewers. Some remembered the macabre dreams of the former Miss France, seeing her husband’s illness.

And all of a sudden, there comes a truck that hits the car.

Nathalie Marquay has the gift of having premonitory dreams. She first revealed it in her book, I believe it, released on September 16, 2021 (published by Guy Trédaniel Editeur). In the documentary Jean-Pierre Pernaut, life after broadcast on C8, Thursday, December 9, 2021, the former Miss France explained that she had had a nightmare about her husband and their son Tom (18) in a violent car accident.

And all of a sudden, there comes a truck that hits the car. And I don’t see my son at all but I see Jean-Pierre and he was filled with soot“, she explains. Nathalie Marquay therefore pushed her husband to consult, rightly. Jean-Pierre Pernaut learns that he has his second cancer, in the lungs, in May 2021. He announces it publicly in November of the same year.

I am told that it is a little big on the other side of the lung…

Jean-Pierre Pernaut had surgery (he underwent an ablation of the lobe of the right lung) in special conditions, an intervention for which he had to quit smoking. The presenter of the 1 p.m. news from TF1 then thinks he is cured, but his wife had a new bad feeling. “I had a nightmare about falling autumn leaves. (…) Boom, autumn is coming and I am told that it is a little big on the other side of the lung“, continues Nathalie Marquay. Indeed, JPP’s other lung is affected, and the tumor is much larger, at 3.5 centimeters.

It would be too heavy for my little health, we can’t do a second operation. So we started radiation therapy. It lasted a few weeks and, at the beginning of 2022, we’ll see if it worked or not.“, concluded Jean-Pierre Pernaut in the documentary devoted to his post-TF1 life.

Jean-Pierre Pernaut died at the age of 71 after a series of strokes and complications from open heart surgery. The man who had also fought against prostate cancer (in 2018) had been placed in an artificial coma at the European Georges-Pompidou hospital, in the 15th arrondissement of Paris.
