“She suffered from these regular attacks.” On December 23, a few hours before Christmas, Mava Chou’s best friend announced on social networks the death of the young mother of four children, which occurred the day before. It was Romain, who had shared his life for a year and a half, who found his lifeless body at his home in the Vosges. In a last gesture of desperation, the very popular YouTuber on social networks ended her life after months of online harassment by her detractors. A situation that has become unbearable, as confided by his last companion, who returns in the columns of the Parisian on the situation which the young woman was undergoing, which had become unlivable.

Those “pikes” who fueled this harassment

If Mava Chou has long kept this harassment secret, Romain explains that it was not long before he discovered the horror she was going through, between the messages that criticized “her head when she wakes up, her makeup”, what “made her laugh”, and the much more violent missives, especially about her role as a mother. When hundreds of accounts started attacking her role as a mother, her children, her spouse, it became unbearable for her., he explains, also denouncing the “spades” sent by Adrien Czajczynski, her ex-husband, who fueled this harassment. When her ex-husband began to imply that there could have been violence under our roof, in early 2020, it took on a huge scale, he recalls.

“I felt like a cry for help”

From then on, Romain explains that his couple was the subject of the worst rumors, and that Mava Chou was suspected of being “an abusive mother”. “We have been compared to Michel Fourniret, to Myriam Badaoui. […] It was implied that I had sexually abused children. […] The problem is that Adrien never denied these rumors, he laments. Faced with the hatred she received on social networks, Mava Chou decided to act after a first suicide attempt in the fall of 2020, as reported The Parisian.

One “call for help”

“I felt like a cry for help”, confides Romain, who specifies that at that time, the young mother had filed a complaint for harassment, in particular against her ex-husband. “She even wrote a registered letter to the prosecutor. She was waiting for help. But this help never came from justice, regrets the one who now only hopes for one thing while an investigation has been opened to “moral harassment having led to suicide” : “That she recognize what Maëva suffered by designating the person or people who pushed her to commit this act”.
