Death of Mister Picardie: edifying revelations on the profile of the driver

Hit by a car overnight from Monday to Tuesday in Oise, Clément Berthevas, Mister Picardie, died Tuesday morning at the age of 25. The man who knocked him down has a more than edifying profile.

These are circumstances that it will still be necessary to clarify who led Clément Berthevas to find death this Tuesday morning, while he was walking along a departmental road in the Oise. The driver of the vehicle that hit him first fled before going to the police station, and was quickly placed in pre-trial detention. And for good reason: he is not unknown to justice.

License invalidated, use of narcotics, hit and run…

Already known to justice for traffic offences, the driver who hit Clement Berthevas on the dual dual carriageway linking Creil to Senlis was driving with an invalid license and fled after the accident. It was only the next day that he went to the Chantilly gendarmerie, just like his passenger who went to report the facts to the Creil police station. The public prosecutor of Senlis confirmed to our colleagues from Parisian the opening of a judicial investigation for “manslaughter by driver” with several aggravating circumstances including invalidated license, use of narcotics, hit and run and failure to assist a person in danger. After his presentation to the investigating judge, the 29-year-old man was placed in pre-trial detention, not without having admitted manslaughter.

The investigation entrusted to the investigating judge will now have to determine the circumstances of this terrible accident, which occurred around 1 a.m., when Clément Berthevas came to leave a Halloween party that was taking place in the village of Apremont. According to Le Parisien, the young man left suddenly after consuming a large amount of alcohol. It was while walking that he found himself near the RD 1330 where he was hit. A motorist who had seen him on the side of the road alerted the emergency services and allowed the young man to be transported to the Creil hospital center and then to be transported by helicopter to Amiens where he succumbed to his injuries.
