Three years after the very noticeable release of Death Stranding, which has found its audience despite its unique gameplay and a different approach to what we can know, Hideo Kojima took advantage of the Game Awards 2022 to reveal to us, in good and due form, a sequel, as the Japanese director knows how to do. We only had the right to a trailer, which gives some potential clues about this sequel, but Hideo Kojima wanted to speak in the Brain Structure podcast.
He explains, in particular, that technology has “ really improved in the last three years “, allowing in particular to do things that were impossible during the development of Death Stranding. In fact, he and the teams have challenged themselves to offer us something else, and this Death Stranding 2, which is not the final name, will not be ” an ordinary sequel “.
The developer goes on to claim that this new game will also be intended for those who have not played Death Stranding, although some moments will be nostalgic. But he can’t say no more for now “, and we will have to be patient before having any information about this sequel.
No release date has been shared, and if we look back, it had been three years since Death Stranding was announced until its release. Hopefully that time frame will be a bit shorter here. Besides, Hideo Kojima has already indicated that he rewrote part of the story after the COVID-19 pandemic.
